Neuse River Greenway is a massive trail on the east side of Raleigh. The trail begins or ends at the Falls Lake Dam on one end with downtown Clayton on the other stretching over 28 miles in length. In addition to being a part of the Capital Area Greenway system, the Neuse River Greenway is also part of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail that crosses North Carolina from the Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks.
There are mini access points and parking lots along the trail with restrooms and water located at Buffalo Road Athletic Park, Anderson Point Park, and Falls Lake Dam. There are points that can be used to access restaurants on the trail. For example, jumping off the trail onto Falls of the Neuse rd to access several restaurants such as Wakefield Tavern or Town Hall Burger and Beer.

Due to the West Neuse Sewer Interceptor Project, a section of the Neuse River Trail will be closed between just south of Milburnie Park and Anderson Point Park starting November 28, 2022. ย
The sidewalk detour is approximately 2.6 miles and connects at Anderson Point Park and at the greenway parking lot located at 5428 Allen Drive, near the Milburnie dam. Allen Drive and Raleigh Beach Road are low-volume traffic roads but please use extra care when using them.
Sidewalks are available along N. Rogers Lane, Neuse View Place and Anderson Point Drive.ย Additionally, an at-grade crossing is required to be made across New Bern Avenue.
